I'm a 34 year old photographer with a big interest in network computing, astrophysics and astronomy.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I love learning about the world and the universe we live in and the SETI project really sparked my interest when I read about it in a Popular Mechanics magazine all the way back in high school. I hope to be part of the global push to find something worthwhile as a part of the project.
The SETI@Home project is an awesome task that everyone can donate time to. It's so easy, cheap to run and has epic results.
My wish for the project is that it's rolled out at more educational facilities to harness their underutilised CPU/GPU time.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
