Personal background
I am 25 years old from a small town called Hopedale, Massachusetts. My hobbies include computers, the Internet, creating web sites, and of course science fiction TV shows and movies. I run my computer 24 hours a day just so Seti@Home can run and crunch all of that data!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1.)I do believe that there is extraterrestrial life exists. The fossils from Mars prove that life once did exist there, and that just adds a layer of proof that somewhere out in this vast galaxy, that life must exist somewhere. Even if there weren't any extraterrestrial life in this galaxy, how many galaxies are in the universe?! Hmm, I thought so.... I hope that humans will discover extraterrestrial life within my lifetime (actually showing that my PC helped to make the discovery!). I believe that when alien life is discovered, it will help people to put their differences aside and end racism once and for all.

2.)I also believe that humans should broadcast a message for others to find, even though it would take several years for a radio signal to reach even the closest star. The message that we should send should be a message of friendship.

3.)I run Seti@Home for two main reasons. First, I think it is very cool that there is something that I can do that can potentially help find evidence of extraterrestrial life. Second, I have a powerful computer at my disposal (a 2.26 GHz Pentium 4), and feel that it would be a terrible shame to let all of that processing power go to waste.
