Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. SETI@home because:
-it provides the means to allow one to contribute to a worthy project where it might not be possible elsewhere
-it brings together a community of like minded individuals
-it brings light to the darkness of space by showing that human beings are capable of more than war
-it will provide the answer to the eternal question of 'are we alone' and it will be found by those who volunteer freely
-it will show governments and corporations that worthy projects like these are what will improve the human condition, not profit or greed driven ideas.

2. My views are these:
-There is a select group of human beings around the world over the centuries to now who have felt some 'calling' inside themselves, something driving them to reach out to the stars and find out what it is, are we here by design or?
-That in time, we will find an answer to many of our human ills, not just the ones that we as humans have created, but those yearnings from within our souls, and that SETI is the key to unlocking the mystery.
-Space is not as dark or cold as portrayed, that we as humans can bring a light to space in a humane and embracing manner. SETI will allow us to prepare for any discovery, so that the first encounter will hopefully be peaceful.
-SETI is the project that allows every human being, despite age, profession, ethnicity, etc. to participate and that is the true meaning of humanity.

3. Suggestions:
-Spread the word
-Use the net, blog, etc.
-Gather all who are members and network/brainstorm on a regular basis...by country, region, city, etc.
-Prepare a contingency plan for members to follow wherever they may be. Just as SAC did in the Cold War...
-Get all members to list their professions, expertise, etc. and support each other in business, finance, etc. Successful members are contributing members.
-Group all members into working groups. Those with web/IT expertise can keep the site up to date. Those with media/tv/movie expertise can produce presentations for world wide release. Those with military experience can provide operational and procedural policies as well as 'what if' a corps of options. Everyone has knowledge of something. Utilize it.
-Make SETI into a foundation that can wield its own political, economic, and military strengths, as required. Not to incite dissension, but without a solid foundation, SETI will be subject to the whims of those who have agendas. SETI should be a household name in print, tv, net, politics, finance, and govt.
