Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1)As far as XT life? Oh, absolutely! However,it kinda seems this way: either they are more primitive than us, and can't read radio waves, or they're more advanced than us, and don't use radio waves. Third option: They have our general level of technology, and are sufficiently distant that we can't get a reply yet or it hasn't reached them yet.(Hey, we haven't really been doing this for all that long now!...)

2)A beacon? Why not? If they can make it here, they already by definition are more advanced technologically than we.(We can't seem to make it off planet, except for little daytrips...)

3)Why do I run Seti@home? Hmmm, good question! I'm not really sure, except that it's a good deed(and I don't do enough of those).
