Hello, my name is Alejandro. I'm from Argentina, 22 years old.
I'm a studying the Computers Engineer carrer at the Universidad Nacional de Cordoba (Cordoba National University), actually in the last year of the career. I'm very fond of Astronomy and Astro phisics, since I was a child. Read a lot of books from the matter (Hawkings, Sagan, etc..). I guess thats the reason why I joined seti@home. Well that's all for now.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I heard about seti@home a couple years ago, when I first got internet at home. Then I joined the project and installed the screensaver on my computer, an old Pentium 100Hz with 16Mb of RAM (what was from that computer?? Nostalgy). The years passed, I went to college and bought a new Computer. And now I heard about this project again in one of my classes, as an example of distributed computing, and decided to donwload it again to contribute to Carl Sagan's dream.
It's really nice the new 3D screensaver, the last I've seen was the one that has the red columns and the spectrum in 2D. I remember watching it for a long time looking for some E.T. signal on it. |
