| I'm 47, female, single, have 2 sons and one grandson who is absolutely adoreable. I'm from Shropshire in the UK and have numerous interests. Probably too many to be honest. I tend to flit from one to the other when the mood strikes or when more information comes out about something I'm interested in. On the good side, that means I know a little about a lot rather than a lot about a little. :-) |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I run seti because the universe enthralls me and I'm deeply curious about what's happening 'out there', what MAY happen and 'who or what' is out there. To be a part of the search for that, even in a small way, is an absolutely thrill.
I think the project is an excellent and much needed idea. Not only are those of us in the general populace getting a chance to help seti but we're also getting the opportunity to feel a part of a great community, all with the same aim and all with this great interest.
My suggestion or question would be about the time limit imposed as regards astropulse analysing. I'm doing my first one at the moment and I shall be extremely disappointed if it ends up getting taken from me before I've managed to finish it. I only allow 50% cpu time and work is only done when my pc is not in use. I really want to complete these work units but I don't want to feel 'pressured' into finishing it in a certain time. It WILL get done, hopefully in time. We shall see what we shall see. :-) |
