Personal Background of André Edwin Gerrard Carrington
Brief life history: I was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago (known as T & T), in 1966 to a diplomat father and homemaker mother. I was educated at two high schools, St. Margaret's in Georgetown, Guyana and the British School of Brussels in, (where else :)) - Brussels, Belgium.
Currently, I have two degrees, a Master of Science degree in Computing for Commerce and Industry (Open University, 1993) and a Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice (Colorado Technical University, 2005). Although I have no experience in law enforcement but found programs like CSI fascinating. I have read extensively about criminal case histories on sites such as crimelibrary.com and doenetwork.us.
As for past employment I worked as a custom computer programmer and eventually ran two small software companies in the Caribbean doing Oracle database work. Not currently working as I contracted leukemia in 2004 and cannot find anyone who is interested in hiring me. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
Thoughts On SETI@home project
Find the entire concept to be very exciting. We are living in a time when astronomers are finding terrestial planets orbiting stars outside of our solar system. Our space telescopes (Hubble Space Telescope, James Webb Space Telescope) can see further into space than ever before. To me, seti@home gives me a chance to join this incredible scientific adventure.
I like the way the project is run and much prefer the BOINC software to the previous proprietary seti software. The only thing I miss is the map that shows where a particular unit originated from. |
