Personal background
It would probably be better for someone else to write this about me because their view will be vastly different from mine. However that would be true for all of us if we are honest with ourselves.

Who Am I
50 year old maverick with long hair almost down to my waist, an outrageous off kilter sense of humor and probably cares about things to much. Very concerned about the environment and what we are doing to this planet. Love to look at the stars and if I could get in a rocket and travel to them I would.

A quick spin around the Ant, Crab and Horsehead nebulas before breakfast with a stop off at the milky way to top up would be fine before heading out to some of the Sigert galaxies in time for lunch. On the way back get my stop watch out and time some neutron stars to make sure they are still working properly before arriving home in time for supper, putting up my feet and having a nice cup of tea.

Ahhh what are dreams made of. Not able to do any of that so I content myself with investigating my local area and hunting for mushrooms and watching birds and the wildlife. Also enjoy reading, building computers and playing computer games.

Well thats a little about me.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run Seti@Home because I think that there is life out there in the stars. It would be arrogant of human beings to think that we are the only intelligent beings inhabiting this universe.

As technology advances the boundaries of what the project can achieve will be pushed back. With the help of millions of people around the world with a common view, a worldwide community of people is emerging that want to work together. Maybe with this distributed computing project we can begin to show governments around the world that we the people of the world can have a common goal without fighting.

My suggestion to the people of the world, is to accept that we are all individuals and that all have equal rights to contribute to this world. It is our uniqueness and desire that can make it work if we accept each other for the people that we are.
