Personal background
I've wondered about space for a long time. I found out about Seti@home from the
information that came with my telescope last January. I am the head of the
Information Technologies department at the company I work for. I spend too much time behind a keyboard. I love to read and especially enjoy good Sci-fi about space.

I really wonder if 'others' have been here and just as in StarTrek, can not
violate the 'prime' directive.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
If I didn't think life existed in other parts of the universe I wouldn't
be 'crunching' units from Seti. We will know about 'them' when they are ready to let us know they are there. I can't believe that we are the most advanced life form in the universe -- I mean, what are the odds?

As far as running Seti@home I do it because I might help push us one unit closer to finding out about another civilization. It would be cool to be the one to receive the signal but . . . . I'm not counting on it, I've played the lottery for twenty years and have NEVER won a dime!
