Profile: Robert Dufty

Personal background
Hmmm...the trick here is to portray myself in the best possible light without seeming pretentious, narcissistic, egomaniacal or just generally insane. The problem is that I'm actually all of the above :P

Oh, I'm not really that bad. I'm fairly easy going, but I can get a bit passionate at times. I've been known to burst into spontaneous dance, song and prose for no obvious reason. I feel that random artistic acts add texture and dimension to life. I'm a very social guy, and I thrive when I'm thrown into the deep end of any situation.

I'm just months away from finishing college, and I'm looking forward to devoting all of my time and effort to CityTech Enterprises (an Australian software company, of which I own 50% and serve as Director of Marketing and Promotion). CityTech focuses on innovative software solutions for the educational sector, and we specialise in global file synchronisation and access.

When I'm not building web servers or building the foundations of tomorrow's technology (God I really love myself :P), you can find me smacking my way through 18 holes, hammering away at my piano or chilling out on the deck of the BoatHouse cafe with all my nearest and dearest, a Chai Latte in hand and a smile on my face :)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Well, to presume that we are alone in this universe is highly amusing, and spits in the face of logic and reasoning. I run a bevy of powerful, professional-grade Apple computers, and when I'm not using them, I'm more than happy to devote their CPU time to furthering our search for intelligent life.
