Profile: James M Thorne

Personal background
I am a budding photojournalist, recently graduated from Brunel University with a degree in Multimedia Design and Technology. I currently work as a Studio Assistant for a fine art photography company in Mayfair, London.

When I am not at work, I am out photographing protests and demonstrations around London. Over the past two years I have documented many of the political and social protests that have taken place in and around London. I have had a number of images published in print publications and on websites around the world.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am running SETI@home because I have a fairly decent computer that I leave on during the day. It doesn't do much, aside from collecting my email, so I thought I would devote its spare resources to the SETI@home project. The SETI@home project gives us ordinary, non scientific people the chance to be a part of possibly the greatest discovery in the history of mankind.

I have always believed that somewhere in the universe there is intelligent life and that if mankind ever found it that it would fundamentally change our outlook here on Earth.
