Who am I? Born 6 June 1976 in Dresden, Germany and grown up in this beautiful city, I was obviously just an average girl ... But, I defied the odds. I met a very lovely Kiwi in my mid Twenties and fell in love! And this was the end or better the start of a great turn in my life. In 2005, I emigrated to Godzone with my family (my partner, our little son and our then unborn baby). I have to confess that NZ is a wonderful place:
Flightless birds, no native predators, bats, tropical appearing plants, very huge and old rimu and kauri trees, tree ferns, scarlett red blossoming pohutukawas, ratas which grow from top to "toe", snow covered mountains, vulcanoes, steaming and bubbling mudholes and hot springs, death appearing plains overgrown with greyish-brown plants, rounded green hills, tropical rainforests, fjords, rapid streams, waterfalls, secluded lakes smooth as glass, blue lagoons and endless beaches.
New Zealands wonderful variety of natural treasures is immens and just overwhelming.
Even that would have been enough for me not only to fall in love with a Kiwi, but with the country too. But I have also fallen in love with the people and the culture. The Kiwis really are relaxed, friendly and quite open-minded and understanding. They made it easy for me to adapt! And it is a great place to raise children.
So, hopefully our relationship (mine and NZs) will last a very long time!

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| I can't remember when I started to run SETI@home on my PC. However, I'm very interested in science and I'm a Sci-Fi fanatic. Taking all the things into account I know about the possibilities of other live out there, I strongly believe that the odds are very high to find "them". I don't know if SETI is the right answer, but it is a try and worth to support it! And I like the idea that my PC is used for something "more useful" than my usual inet searches, emails or games ;o) |
