Profile: Michael Sugerman

Personal background
I am an archaeological anthropologist on the faculty of the Anthropology Department at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I do my field research in the eastern Mediterranean and have worked in Greece, Turkey, Israel, and Palestine. My current research is focused on the political economy of Cyprus in the Late Bronze and Early Iron Ages.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
As an archaeologist I am interested in studying others: other cultures, other places, other times. What could be more "other" than what we might find on the other end of the SETI project?
I'm happy to be taking part in what could be one of the most important and world-changing projects in history.
