Profile: major tom (space_cowboy)

Personal background
Im employed as a software developer here on earth.
I arrived here in 1956 and promptly learned various earth customs and languages.
I especially enjoy cabbage and beer.
The atmosphere is kinda funky so I learned to fly airplanes to explore this.
Your females are quite interesting as well.
I have learned much from the species 'dog'.
Earth is a pretty good place.
On my home planet, we would never allow a company like Microsoft to put out the
unreliable garbage that they inflict on unsuspecting computer users.
We also don't permit politicians to exist.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Of course I believe in extraterrestrial life since I am a member of this unique group.
I don't know when humans will discover it; I've been trying to let earthlings know that there is at least one kind of extraterrestial - me. It's not like I've been hiding. In fact I've been quite open about my origins with the folks who know me here on earth.

I know that there are numerous species out there besides my own.
My own species is very much on par with earthlings technologically except that we are a little more advanced in our space travel technology.
Oddly enough, your public transit system is better than ours.
Some of the benefits of discovering some of the other species are numerous. For instance, one of the species that really hates my species have developed a complete unified field theory and developed some technology based on this so they can in fact travel enormous distances in space as well as in time.
There are however, some less desirable species out there; one in particular smells really bad by earthly standards.

If I was an earthling, I would say that the seti@home is a very ingenious way to get affordable computing power for a very worthwhile effort. I think this search is important because it offers great potential for mankind and since it is very difficult to get humans to part with their money for such an endeavour, the idea of seti@home is simply ingenious.
