Born in Dallas and a graduate of the University oif Texas at Austin. Early career was in banking, and security and commodity brokerage. Relocated to Nashville area in 1996 (job related). Left the National Federation of Independent Business via early retirement in 2001. (I think they were getting as tired of me as I was of them.)
