Personal background
Just to fill you lot in -

My name is John, 33yo, and a pub manager in Scotland. Where drinking is classed as a secondary occupation, so I'm always busy.

I'm a veteran gamer, and have been since around thirteen, when I got my first AD&D book; since my long term campaign broke around ten years ago, my thrills and spells have been fuelled via PC.

An ardent vegetarian, I am also a trained chef, who aims to show the world that veggie cooking ain't all beans and lentils!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. SETI@home is a project that stimulates me - ever since a kid, growing up in an age of nuclear threats (Thank you both to Reagan and Thatcher) I would dream of a world free of such nightmare.

Then, years later, reading Julian May's wondrous works on Intervention, I began to hope that this was the way that humanity was headed - although technically flawed, our race was pipped for something great.

Meh, who knows. It's just exciting.

2. My views? I endorse it. That's why I'm here at 2am, writing this bio that should have ben written ages ago.

3. The only thing that I could suggest is having a clock on my screensaver, so that I don't have to disturb it to find out how late I've been sitting up till, reading and letting my laptop whirr away and destroy another tree.
