| Personal background |
From Conway, Arkansas, on I-40 about 35 miles north of Little Rock, I'm 53 and a computer scientist techno-MBA by education and work on the output-side of its state-wide court information system for the Arkansas Supreme Court.
I grow orchids, build and fly radio-controlled airplanes, and play golf and the trumpet. My trumpet activities include having formed and perform in The Occasional Brass Ensemble, a brass quintet, music director and occasional lead trumpet for The Swing Band Reunion, a 40's style dance band composed of mostly graduates of Little Rock Central High School from 1949 to 1956, and 3rd trumpet in the Dave Rosen Orchestra, Arkansas' premier big band.
My personal web site is CohenBrothers.org which contains a section about Doc Severinsen's Trumpets and Doc's best friend. Other sites I developed but recently sold are:
BTE\\'s Venture60
BTE\\'s FlyinKing
BTE\\'s Delta Vortex
I'm to marry the church organist later this year (2006). (Now we can *really* start playing with each other!) Most folks in the church are afraid she's just going to marry 'that guy in the band' and run off.
In choir, we work on pronunciation quite a bit. The basses are pretty good with words ending in 'N', so I like to say "The basses who say 'Nuh'", reminicent of "The Knights who say 'Ni'", hence my membership in KWSN. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
| Congress should never have cut SETI funding. But, in doing so, SETI had to become very creative. In so doing, Seti-at-home was invented. What a unique way to crunch all those numbers - with other people's computers! |
