Profile: David Aris

Personal background
My name is David Aris and I'm originally from Michigan but am now residing in Las Vegas. I'm 60 as of August, 2005. I first got involved with SETI@home in November of 2001. Unfortunately, after 603 completed units and 12,140 hrs of processing, I was not able to incorporate the old data in with the new. So I've created a new account on the new Boinc (pronounced "boink?") system.

I'm a former software engineer, have owned a restaurant, been in professional theatre, been a hippie. A varied and interesting life so far.

I've got 2 wonderful grandchildren and a wonderful dog—my faithful companion—named Kipper Too. I got her from my son and my grandson had already named her Kipper after another faithful dog I had. So she became Kipper Too.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home because I truly believe that there is other intelligent life out there. Any help I can give in proving that belief is time well spent.
