I teach at Vermont Technical College in the Computer Information Systems department (home page). I live in the Burlington area of Vermont. I enjoy Astronomy, waterfalls, and creative writing as hobbies.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Although I think the chance of finding an extraterrestrial civilization via radio SETI is remote, I think it's still a worthwhile effort "just in case." However, I can understand why professional astronomers wouldn't be into the idea of pursuing such a speculative research program. Thus it's a perfect task for amateurs at home to undertake. I'm glad to be a contributor to the effort.
