Personal background
I am 43 years of age and have been living my entire life in the Netherlands, behind dikes and yes, below sealevel (only 0,3 meters!). My profession is electronics teacher at a technical university since jan 2006.
My 2 years old daughter keeps me busy and away from my hobby like computing, microcontrollers and so prevents me becoming a computernerd. My PC does the serious job and I go out and play....

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I like participating in SETI@home and other projects because my computer is on most of the time and does some real work. Besides, I feel like a managing director: my PC does 99% of the job and I get the credits....

Suggestion: Wouldn't it be nice if computerized equipment, anything that has some perhaps small processing power and does only waiting most of the time, could be attached to project? Connecting to the internet isn't that difficult anymore with wireless networks, infrared, regular 'synchronizations' and all that.
Thinks about it: PDA's, mobile phones, faxmachines, copiers, even my DVD-player while in stand-by could do something.
