Personal background
I am an Operations Manager, married 2 children 1 at home the other has flown the coup.

I enjoy the Darts on TV although rarely play mayself, an avid Sci-Fi fan who rarely watches the news or reads the papers, i have enough doom and gloom sometimnes with out having to read about other peoples.

Star Trek all series, and Star Wars are constanlt playing, in the back ground here, although do enjoy the fantasy of Lord of the Rings and Narnia as well.

with a collection of over 2000 DVD\\'s very rarely watch TV unless it is Sci-Fi based (except for Lost that has me enthralled at the moment).

i was using the Setiathome calssic for the last 5 years at least, now learning all this new stuff will get there in the end
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
At 42, i have seen so many films and TV Series that show things like microwaves, electric doors and cars, and even space travel i firmly believe that somthing is out there and some day soon we will have developed the tecno to get there, so Seti for me is the starting block of finding somewhere to go?

love the graphics of the screen saver sometimes sit and watch it for hours just to relax, (sad i know).

lets stop spending millions on setting up probes and sending them in to space, and spend that money on getting people up there and lets see this small solar system with human eyes rather than just cameras.
