Personal background
High
My name is Patrick(pat) I live in a town 50kilometers south west of Auckland NewZealand called Waiuku (pronounced Why ookoo). I am an Old feller, retired.
My last job was as owner/operator of a landscaping/lawn mowing busines.Owing to deterioating health the physical aspect of the job became too much,Hence the retirement.
My Interests are in Flying(models and microlights) and all things up above. I have no qualifications in things in the sky just an interest. I do spend a lot of time
looking at the sky and wondering.A large amount of time is spent on my computer usualy doing things for others. As well as this I support my lovely wife by keeping house and transporting her to work and back and baby sitting our grand kids. I also am a bass player in our local country music band.
Seti at home intrigues me and seems to make sense, so I thought I would give it a go.Who knows anything can happen.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1/ Because it makes sense to me to use the potential computing power that is available. It is not often that relatively small folks get a chance to participate
in something that if discovered would I believe change everything on earth.

2/ I believe the project is a good one. I tend to think the odds of there being others out there is quite high. If there is no one there ,then to my mind it is a criminal waste of space and what are we doing here all alone?

3/ I do not have any suggestions as yet, I wouldn't presume. Idont know enough.
