Profile: Rebecca Phillips

Personal background
I'm From Stevenage in the United Kingdom. I work in Local Government and love to read, Talk to people on the Internet and watch interesting films. I'm currently reading Carl Sagans "Contact" (as of March 13th 2003) but is not the reason I joined here (Which was actually in 2001). I just felt my processor should be put to some good use when I'm not on my machine!

Thanks for reading.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I would like to think that ET exists. I find it hard to believe that we are alone but if we are, then what is really out beyond our own planet. I have this theory that we really are just a tiny part of some major other living thing in an even larger cosmos of another living thing.

One thing thats always puzzled me though and thats why aren't we also transmitting some signals for anyone out there to pick up from us (Apart from normal radio noise we emit from this planet anyway? Whatif - they are out there but they are looking like we are? We are both (or all) looking for something we aren't putting out. I have a million other questions like that but they are all from a neophyte and probably don't even deserve contemplation.

I'll maybe add some more in the future. If we want someone to answer us, then maybe we should be putting out those questions.

Ramblings of Becky.
