Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I run QMC and other distributed computing projects on my computer because I want to support the research of the science and math field of study. I first used folding@home in late 2005. Later I switched to the BOINC client to increase the variety of projects. I currently run qmc, seti, boincsimap, and szitaki. I am hoping on increasing my cpu uptime in the next months.
My favorite part of seti@home is the cool screensaver, mostly because it displays REALTIME data of whats being calculated, with all the data and graphs on the screen. Compare that to those other useless screensavers that look cool, but in reality produce random numbers and put them on the screen.
For suggestions I would like more details on the graphs, to know exactly what kind of data is being calculated at the moment, though not very important. |
