Personal background
My name is Carrie. I'm a 37 year old mother of three located in North Carolina. I'm currently a student, enrolled at a local technical college studying Cyber Crime Technology along with my husband who is in Outdoor Leadership.

I've been interested in SETI since I first heard about it during my tour in the military, and downloaded the original SETI software to my home computer.

In my spare time, if I have any, I enjoy hiking, fishing, camping (with an RV now), and spending as much time out of doors as possible.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Why do I run it? Why not? I believe that it's rather naive for us to think that we are the only intelligence in the universe, and it strikes me as a logical way to test if there might be anyone else out there that could communicate with us. It's worth a shot, regardless, and I like to think that I'm a part of a bigger plan, and helping to contribute a little bit of SOMETHING to our future.

2. My views on the project? Well, I think the answer to question number 1 says about all about my views. I have some suggestions about it though, such as... since we are listening for signals, shouldn't we be sending some too? I mean if everyone in a room is listening and waiting for someone else to speak, does anyone really hear anyone else in the room? Just a thought... *smiles*

3. Well, I guess number 2 answers this one doesn't it?
