I am an electrical engineer in Canada. I've been running S@H since 1999, at which time I was 14.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The odds of there being other intelligent life in the universe, in my opinion, are extremely good. Unfortunately, it may be extraordinarily hard to find. Without projects like S@H our odds go from "slim" to "totally nonexistent".
I figure it's sort of like the entire human race buying lottery tickets with a side benefit of maybe learning something about ourselves and the universe we live in.
