1) I think ET life exists, but it's very difficult to find it, due to the size of universe
I can't say what could be the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery, because the life we could discover may be very different, but they could teach them many things, if we could communicate with them
2) I don't think that humans should transmit a beacon, because we don't know what are their technologies, and it will probably make nothing.
3) I run SETI@Home because I believe in this project and I don't like when my CPU works under 100% =)
