Profile: Fred T. Hamster

Personal background
My molecules were originally hydrogen but their weight increased over time due to the influence of the stellar furnace. I was cooked down into the heavier molecules under tremendous pressure and temperature, but then my star died or i was ripped out of it by tidal forces and flung through the vastness of space, eventually coalescing along with other parts of the earth to form the planet we see now. The threads of those molecules through time have included every form of beast and mineral, but now they're together here as fred for a short time. Soon enough, chemicals will be exchanged as i take in food and excrete waste and what we call fred will change. A different set of molecules will be here, but they'll have essentially the same story, and yet it will be an entirely unique composition, but then it too will change.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I'm not sure intelligent life exists on earth. There are some who seem fairly smart, but unfortunately the idiots seem to outnumber the wise people. I am truly hoping we eventually encounter a species that has already survived this painful process of struggling towards true civilization and that they can help us out. I'd rather our species take a few shortcuts than die out from its own intransigence. So, for survival purposes, it does seem important to not only detect but contact extraterrestrial entities, even given the chance that they may find us tasty.
