Jason here (aka sadlydefiant) from the OCAU comunity.
I have been doing seti on and off for about 8 months now (I think) but have just started doing it full time again with my new p4 805 dual core cpu.
I love gaming, computer modding, I did love cars but they are to expensive, I also love ut2004 ctf and web design.
I am a father of 2 girls and currently unemployed.
I am trying to save up to buy an electric gutair and get some lessons and I also love mountain bike ridding (just need a new mountain bike :) )
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run seti for 3 reasons.
1'st is that I like to help in the search for SETI
2'nd is that I like to give my pc somehitng to do because it would just normally sit here for about 80% off the day and do nothing.
3'rd and final is that I like to compete to see how far up the ladder I can get
The project is because it gives peoples computers a chance to do something good for a change. Oh and also helps wave through the mountains of signals that seem to be out there.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
