Personal background
I am a high school math teacher living in Port Orchard, WA. I've been into computing for many years and like to build computers and mod cases as a hobby.

I'm currently looking forward to my main cruncher upgrade, retiring my current MB/CPU plus some old CUDA cards to the desk in my classroom where I am generously allowed to crunch on their power (but only with my own hardware).

In addition to my current crunchers, I have the following 1-2U servers in reserve ready to come online once I can afford the power bill. I hope to one day load them up with PCI cuda cards as well:
two dual 2.4 HT P4 Xeons
one dual 1.4 GHz PIII-s Xeon
one dual 1.13 Ghz PIII-s Xeon
three dual PIII Xeons of varying speeds

I also have in spare parts/oddballs:
5 dual UltraSPARC IIs...compatible but unlikely to run due to lack of a video card to set them up with and their large power drain.
A few dead dual Xeon machines...CPUs/RAM have been swapped out into above boxes where compatible and faster.

My office is a wall museum to dead motherboards and outdated or unneeded expansion cards, including some old crunchers that have expired over the years.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have always believed that there must be more intelligent life out there in the universe, and I'd like to do my small part to help find them.
