My name is Michael (Milo) Gloss, I am 46 years young living in Medicine Hat Alberta Canada but I was born in Blackpool Lancashire United Kingdom.
I work as a safety specialist in the oil and gas industry specializing in H2S safety and rig blowout's.
Prior to that I was a member of the British Forces for many years working in anything from snow to deserts seeing many things fly by in the night sky.
I was first introduced to Seti or at least thinking if anybody or thing is out there after a visit to the Arecibo observatory while on vacation in Puerto Rico in my mid 20's.
Since then I have started my own part time investigations as to "if we have been to the moon", "do we or have we had any underwater cities" and "is area 51 hiding anything" ? All are still work in progress due to my normal work taking me away from home for weeks and months at a time.
Do I believe there is life out there ? Well in honesty, it's i big space out there so we must be very nieve or arrogant when thinking about how long we have been here on this rock in space and how long the other rocks out there have been driffting about in their galaxies to just think and assume we are the only life out there. |

I decided to run Seti on my home computers after I read a magazine artical about it and thought, well I have a computer doing nothing at home while I'm working so it might as well do something.
It's researching something I am interested in and I have a chance to be a part of it.
I think the concept of using thousands of private computers to do all the calculations etc. is a great idea allowing normal people to be involved rather than just read about projects that are being carried out around the world costing millions of tax payers dollars.
To be activly involved gives you a feeling that you are part of the project and that the project is not just this money absorbing thing that yeilds no results at the end. |
