Personal background
Hi everybody, I'm Jerry Hawkins. ( I orginally started out as "Boskodude" with SETI@home years ago )I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the U.S.A..

Ever since I was a young boy in Bartlesville, I've had quite a fascination for Astronomy. A member of Astronomy Clubs there and have enjoyed studing the vast nebulous of the ever revealing universe all around us.

Probably one of my all time favorite people was Mr.Carl Sagan. I could sit and listen to him tell stories about various star clusters, the universe and incredible technology telescopes for hours...actually I really did..!

He was a very intelligent individual in my view and had so much to offer those who shared a similar interest in space and the possible exsitance of Alien life forms in our universe at large.

His movie "Contact" was presented to me years ago by a close friend, Jill who seemed so "Glued" to reading it out by the swimming pool. I ended up giving into my curiosity of what she was so dedicated to reading and she showed me the book..."Contact".

Later, once the actual motion picture came out...I had to go see it!
I found that Jodie Foster did a great job of portraying a scientist who
like Mr. Sagan was fascinated by the possibility of Alien life forms in space.

Great Movie by the way...! Loved it.

I have attended the Mars Watch a few years ago with my Step Father, David and we really enjoyed the array of fantastic telescopes offered by the Tulsa Astronomy Club. I took many many photographs with my Nikon System.

We got to look through a twelve thousand dollar telescope that it's lenses were designed in Germany, the body of the telescope designed in Russia and it's creator who lives here in Tulsa.

Also, many very large Meade Telescopes and a few Celestron and then of course, the long long refractor scopes bases on the ground.

I could almost make out the intriquite and vast freeway systems on Mars...almost. (Lol.)
It was truely a remarkable experience...!

I've been "listening" for a few years now through Seti@Home on my computers.

I hope my efforts are of genuine help in their never ending pursuit of locating Alien life somewhere in that deep dark nebulous ...we know now as the Universe...!

Best wishes to all who get involved in Seti..!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
SETI@home has been a most enjoyable experience thus far. I am getting ready to pursue the latest edition, Boinc...
I wish SETI could find ways and means to enlarge their advertising to an even larger audience of people ...so that more and more people on the globe would find out about SETI...who would so very much love to join in on all the fun.

The movie "Contact" did a fantastic job of bringing this whole concept into public view.
As mentioned earlier...Jodi Foster and the Crew years ago...made some sense out of what may have been previously viewed as silly concepts regarding the possibility of Alien life form in space.

She is one my favorite people anyway..Jodie. Carl Sagan was one of my all time favorite people involved in the natural sciences..space..NASA...and peering out of a multi thousand dollar telescope to see "wha's hap-o-nin" way way out in space these days.

Best wishes to all who join in SETI@home....!
