Profile: Capitalmind

Personal background
From the UK but living in Ontario Canada.

Varied professional career, but huge supporter of Linux and FOSS (Free Open Source Software). Facinated by neural networks and clusters, the essence of number crunching, lateral computation and AI. There's no point installing Linux on a toaster, but being able to sure feels good! :D

Brilliant minds and briliant ideas make this time, not the money in your pocket.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think Erich von Daniken called it the Green Bank Formula, but whatever it was called, needing a formula to calculate the possibility of life other than our own in the cosmos is purely infantile. With anywhere between 40 planets and 50 million planets with a statistical environment equal to our own pretty blue planet, the concept of being the only life in the cosmos is but a security for the episcopolian vanguards that covert our laws and thoughts. If our entire comprehension of everything is limited to the boundaries of our own simple minds, it would be nice to make an introduction to the unknown, if nothing else!

I use boinc to help filter the impossible out of a statistical suggested idea, but the best and only that we have to work with right now. And if it ain't broke, why fix it!! After all, the laws of physics, are only so until we write new ones. Just wait and see..
