Personal background
I'm currently a 24 year old student at Oregon State University. I'm studying for a degree in Computer Science. Hobbies include working on old cars from the 50's, machining, studying psychology, studying art and drinking beer...I'm a real beer snob.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Dude, SETI@home is a great idea. I rarely power down my box and being a computer geek I have extra PCs just laying `round. What better use of them when I don't need the processor cycles?
I think the project was a great idea from the get go. With the evolution into the BOINC software it's become better. It's good to see other programs (other @Home groups) getting involved too. These kinds of programs have really gotten a variety of communities to get more involved with science.
