Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Just looking for Elvis...

Well, on an added note:

One of the things that are fundamentally wrong with us people is the notion that we want to believe that we are not alone in the universe. The moment we discover we are not, most of our civilized societies will collapse overnight.

There are no longer any religion that takes into account the possibility of alien encounters. In their absence we have created multitudes of gods. If we do meet E.T. the ensuing chaos and violence would be tantamount to hell on earth as all religions crumble. It will be doomsday, say.

This could be the paradox that confronts aliens wanting to contact us and the reason we still don't know.

So what's it with Bob Lazar? Any grain of truth to this? Would make the SETI redundant somehow.
