Personal background
Updated 1/1/2004

Its a new year and I am bored in work, must be time to update my profile again. It wasn't so long ago that I updated after reaching 5000 units, how the units fly.

My name is Dave Wilson (24 in Feb) and I am a software developer living in sunny old Norn Iron (thats Northern Ireland in English). I have graduated from Queens University Belfast in mid 2003 and now work for a software house called Liberty IT. Going strong with girlfriend Diane and looking at buying a house.

I run Seti on all my big PC's. They consist of-

- Home gaming machine (currently XP 2800 Shuttle)
- Home server (currently XP 2200 custom)
- Work development machine (currently P4 2.6 Dell)
- Work test server (currently P4 1.8 Dell)

I can usually churn out a unit in 2 - 3 hours depending on the machines workload. I also have a seti farm setup in my old work which I left about 6 months ago. Had a couple of clents running and an old seti-q server hidden in the server room. Most of the clients are probably dead now but I have no way of checking.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think Seti is a worth while cause for ppl to participate in. I have to admit I have come a bit of an addict as I like to see my units go up and up.

I am very annoyed at the recent articles concering "cheating" @ seti, ppl sending back false results just to get their numbers up, thats sad guys.
