Personal background
I am a Systems analyst for a wireless company. I have been in I.T. now for over 10 years and love every minute of it. I have spent a few years working at "Big Blue" and at "Tandy". I had the chance to work with another company that supported some of the NASA software for the shuttle. I love computers and everthing about them. I guess what really started my craze was the movie Wargames. It was filmed in my local town "Ferry boat scene is from Steilicom, WA" and have been interested in computers ever since.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
First, I think that extraterrestrial life exists somewhere out there. I just hope we find some sort of E.T. life form in my life time.

How? I would say some single celled organism on some planet that either feeds of CO2, or nitrogen.

I think would should transmit a beacon. Why the heck not. We have the technology to transmit some sort of signal.

I think we should send sites and sounds of the planet. The sounds of the ocean, rain, wind and pictures of the canyons, valleys and mountains of the earth.

I run SETI because I have the ability to help with a dream that will someday be real.
