Profile: Dave Redding

Personal background
My name is David Redding and I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I retired after 31 years of teaching high school in California. I am originally from Indiana and moved to Michigan. After I moved to Las Vegas, I joined the Las Vegas Astronomical Society and the Planetary Society. I am an active amateur astronomer. I built my own observatory in my backyard and called it ROLV(Redding Observatory of Las Vegas). I house and use a Celestron NexStar GPS 11" Schmidt-Cassegrain Catadioptric telescope. I enjoy reading about religion and astronomy and play the piano and organ.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have been a participant in the SETI@Home Project since the 1990's. I believe there is life throughout the universe, whether we can communicate with it or not. I have confidence in the SETI project to seek the answers to the question of extraterrestial life in the universe. I am proud to be among the many amateur astronomers to assist in this project.
