| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

SETI@Home is such a wonderful way to put distributed computing to use! Even if we don't find ET in all this data, we'll have at least eliminated what spectrum (and when) evidence of extraterrestrial sentient life cannot be found.
Although I believe we are not alone, I doubt that we'll find evidence of such in my lifetime. This expanding universe is so huge, it's possible that a civilization or two (a long time ago, in a galazy far, far away) may have evolved, flourished, and died millions of years before Earth was created. |
