Personal background
I'm 23 and doing Geophysics at Southampton University. I collect Dr. Pepper bottles (over 600 at present) and have a pechant for putting various parts of my anatomy through windows(accidentally, of course). I'm not jesus, but i do have the same initial.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
life has taught me to be a cynical b'stard, but i don't think anyone can dispute the possibility of life SOMEwhere else in the universe. its just a question of how far away they are and how advanced they are. there may be another civilisation perfectly capable of sending radio waves that's just too far away to hear. or maybe they're dead (see?). conversly, there's probably bacteria all over the shop, but their tiny hands are incapable of building a beacon. either way there is probably life somewhere other than earth but its not too likely we'll know about it anytime soon. Still, if all it takes is to strap some electrickery to the side of a radio telescope why not keep on looking?
