My major hobby is life and knowledge, fishing comes next. Currently I am located in Yakima, washington but hoping to move to the South someday, Mack Creek, Mo. would be nice. Retirement to the Columbia River area around Stevenson. I like sf and enjoy conversing with people on intelligent level. But just having fun is nice also.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do I think life exist out there Yes!!!!! If there is nothing out there it is a big waste of space (Contact) great movie. Discover it??? I would like to think that we have already been discovered, but with our current state of existance I do not think intelligent life would care to contact us. We are far to inmature to handle the task of dealing with truely intelligtent life, who are capable of traveling here. If we could contact others out there we could benifit greatly if they choose to teach us and we could get past our own greed and deal with them fairly. Technology could be improved, resourses would probably not be a problem so maybe we would start looking at some of the more important qualitys of life, not just the materuial.
I run seti@hom e because I would like to belive that contact will happen sooner or later and I would like to be a part of that. Our governments approch to this could be improved by changing research approaches. But I won't knock the government, they try hard to do good.
