Profile: N4CR/Squ\|DDy - OC seti project

Personal background
This profile is for Two people; Sam Durbin And Tristan Kleinpaste.. Friends living in Auckland, New Zealand

We usually run SETI on a varying selection of machines. Overclocked ones of course ;)

Currently just an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ which I am overclocking to around 2.6ghz speeds with 1gb corsair on a dfi nf3 ultra. This computer is now (26th december onwards) running 24/7 for seti.
A Dual celeron 533, a 433 and another athlon palomino will be joining the effort soon. My dads a64 3200+ will be when availiable. Clustering might be something to look at for fun.

Old rig - GA-7N400 Pro 2 1800 JUICB @ 2600 (2.06 ghz) which I did 140 or so wu\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s with S@H Classic cmd a while ago.

I (Tristan)enjoy riding bikes and listening to black metal and I am currently training as a pilot.

Currently in the computecnetworks team, pwning all the dirty intel computers ;p .
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
We think ET really must exist, or why else would we turn valuable idle cpu cycles into used ones for SETI.. lol - the universe is MASSIVE and you are telling me there is no (ET) populated life life out there?
It would be good to know [them], swap technology, and there is a whole new science to be discovered, that is cool.
I hope by running seti we can actually find something - the biggest scientific discovery of our time, we would really like it to be us, but someone like Sun or Weta digital (lord of the rings effects) with massive computing resources probably will (and recieve appropriate publicity).
And on that note, we also am interested in seti as there is no computer more powerful than it EVER! - Which is why we are interested in making our own MOSIX cluster some day ;p

2; we should send a beacon, but we are not going to be around to hear the reply.. sad huh! We should send info about our planet, genetic makeup, physical characteristics and also our main problems; pollution, cars, industry, food shortages, very rich people... blah blah, Mabey ET could help us with the things that are going to make this world hard to live on soon - We should not let the world be destroyed by greed and gluttony...
