Personal background
Hello my name is Erich Wells, and I enjoy using my computer to play games and do work. I am at heart at techno freak or at least I'd like to think so =P I also like to help out whenever and where ever I can, for example Seti@Home.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
It is my personal believe that E.T.'s as it were exsist. I find it highly unlikely we are the only living breathing creatures (assuming other life forms breath) that exsist in this vast universe. As for if/when humans ever discover life on other planets, I cant say, it may never happen or it could happen tomorrow. Or if your a little paranoid like me, perhaps our Goverments has already found proof of other life and refuse to tell us (maybe they think we are all too stupid to handle finding out we are not alone, or maybe they are too stupid to relize we can).

I think transmiting a "beacon" might be pointless. The fact, if other intelligent life exsists, on another planet how do we know they even developed the same technology as us? I think at our current technological state it would be more efficient to just wait for them to contact us. I know that sounds like an oxymoron, but think about it.

The reason I run SETI@Home is a personal quest to help human kind R&D for the search of possible life on other planets, being intelligent or not. I also find the method of using home users PC's as data sorters fasinating. I think its pretty ingenious.
