Personal background
Currently a student at the Florida Institute of Technology. I'll be 22 in June '03 and I am hoping to graduate in December '03. Currently, I'm a cashier at Wal*Mart (exciting, eh?). For fun, I'm a computer/net junkie. I also enjoy movies, piercing, food, and sun.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I dont know if ETs exist, but I like to think they do. I hope they do. It is possible that they don't, but the possiblity that they do... now there's the magic. Benefits? Dangers? Oh yeah, plenty of both, but lets just try to find them for now and worry about the details when/if they're found.

The "message in a bottle" human beacon transmition just doesn't seem to sit well with me. Little bitty message flying out into the infinite, desolate universe... what are the chances? But, if there's money to do it, then by gummy, we might as well try. Images seem like the most likely transmition. Happy humans holding hands and have humorously huge grins.

I run SETI@home because my computer isn't doing anything else important and it could very well help our civilization solve one of the most ancient enigmas: Are we alone? SETI@home rocks!
