Profile: Louis W. Medford

Personal background
I have now reached the age of 60, and am still as curious of whats out there!
I was a Chemistry major in college, but was unable to finish college. I was in the US Air Force and worked with Atlas ICBM's. I was a member of the old 576th SMS, Americas first active ICBM Squadron. After my squadron was deactivated, I served with the 6595th Areo Space Test Wing and was involved with many satellite launches and experimentation. I grin when I say that some of the things I helped put up there might still be up there! The most interesting launch that I was involved with... Project Snapshot, Snap 10. The first trial of a useful Ion Engine. (It Worked!)
After service, I went to 5 years of trade school and became a Journeyman Pipefitter/Plumber. I have worked on everything from "Outhouses" to Nuclear Power Houses! I have ran my own Plumbing business for the last 16 years.
I married just before leaving the military and had 3 daughters, all of whom I am very proud of.
Life goes on day by day, here, and everywhere.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Having been an avid science fiction reader since childhood, and seeing the possibilities... probabilities of life other than on Earth, having been trained in college and in the Space Industry.... I Have No Doubts!!!
