Personal background
When I was a kid (25-30 years ago) I was sure I came from Uranus. No joke. It was my secret. I could spend countless hours lying in the grass lookin up stars in a bright summer sky. Then I grew up (I tried anyway !) but didn't became astrophysician nor scientits. I'm just a designer living in Paris, France, where the sky is much too "noisy" to see any star, even if I'm still "lost in space" now and again !
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Do we MEAN something to the extraterrestrial life we are lookin for ?
I mean, I do believe extraterrestrial life exists. Because it DOES ! Bacteries aren't all from Earth, no ? (Communicate with bacteries remains a tough challenge anyway !) Listening to the sound of Universe is one of the most poetic (therefore necessary) mission ever. seti@home is trying is own way to answer THE question : WHAT IS LIFE ?

2. I don't know what information we should send. Certainly not the sound of bombs if this "message" has to come back like a boomerang some day.

3. I use seti@home as a a screensaver (my sreen is ON all day long). It's also a way to "keep in touch" with out there. If they ring at the door I want to hear them !
