1. It is the right thing to do...it is cool to participate in a big but arcane adventure. Who knows...maybe we'll get lucky?!
2. First off, I think the universe is too huge NOT to have other folks out there. We'd never know if we didn't make the effort to listen. Frankly, I think the idea of distributed computing is amazing, citizen participation is even more so.
