Personal background
I joined the earth's population in 1979. While growing and learning all of earth's mistries I discovered the world of computers, this encounter of the "electronic"-kind happend in 1986. Since that encounter I always deepend my knowledge about them. In those years I always dreamt of a job in that sector. Well now starting from 2000 I found a job in Italy as programmer and afterwards as sysadmin. The reason for being in Italy ?? Well they tell love jumps every barrier in life well it made me jump to another country ;)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I heard about seti from some friend and in the first months I was heavily taken by SETI@Home even to run my PC 24/24, When I had to explain my father the reqason for my PC to be running 24/24 I said i had to recompile my kernel. Now every PC I own runs a copy of Seti@home. I'm running it because I'm sure there is some sort of intelligent life out there. In my younger years I made some thoughts about SETI even going to the point of thinking about parrallel universes being connected through the blackholes. Why I'm convinced there must be intelligent life out there ? Well just mathematicly based. supose that every star in the universe has the same number of planets as in our solar system. This gives us a lot planets and thus possibilities in case we limit the possible locations for SETI to planets.
