Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Question 1: Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it? What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?

I think life on other planets exist. I think that we are definitely not alone. As said in the movie 'Contact', Ellie Arroway: Dad, do you think there's people on other planets? Ted Arroway: I don't know, Sparks. But I guess I'd say if it is just us... seems like an awful waste of space.

I think that is a good answer.

I think humans will search for what is out there when they realize that they have an invested interest in knowing and exploring space.

Trying to examine the dangers and benefits is not that easy. There are all kinds of dangers but a benefit could be a forged unity amoung the people of earth. Finding a signal would also revive the space growth(space race) and only benefit man. Help us to better understand what happening outside of our planet and get to know our Solar System and Universe on a more "hands on" experience.

Question 2: Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?

lol. We already do, tv, radio and whatnot. We have been broadcasting for so long that it could not hurt to add another intended for extraterrestrials.I think the basic we come in peace and demonstration of basic knowledge of our intelligence in all major languages would suffice, but it seems more probable that the the communicatiuon that will be recieved is just stuff we broard cast everyday.

Question 3: Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any suggestions?

I think SETI is a great project to help to reach this discovery point. The sooner the better. This will benefit the space industry. I am glad to get to play any part in this effort.

I think the project has a wider acceptance today than it has ever had and has a better possibility of making a major discovery. Go SETI!!!!
