Personal background
I am running optimized apps on all my computers pretty much 24/7. They include, in order of performance, as of Jan/09:

1 Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 @ 2.5 GHz w/ 9800GT co-processor (overclocked ~10%)

1 Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 @ 2.67 GHz

1 AMD Athlon XP 64 3000+ (Socket 939) @ 1.8 GHz w/ 8600GT co-processor (BIOS flashed to Quadro FX 1700)

1 Intel Core Duo T2300 @ 1.6 GHz

I am also running BOINC on a few older computers that I have stuffed in a closet...not worth mentioning here...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I run SETI@home for many reasons, not only does it increase our chances of contacting other intelligence, but it is a great way to benchmark computers and use idle processing time.

2. I feel as though this project may not me the most productive use of distributed computing but I don't have cancer so I don't really need to fold :)

3. The CUDA support is great so it should be further developed. The program should also support OpenCL or ATI graphics cards because there is a huge potential for untapped processing power there too!
